Construction of new I-70 connector road approved by O’Fallon City Council

By: John Tremmel

On April 11, the O’Fallon City Council authorized an agreement with R.V. Wagner Inc., to construct new connector road between the new south outer road along Interstate 70 and Veterans Memorial Parkway.

To be named Brunjes Drive, the project was defined during early discussions about the I-70 corridor one-way outer road system currently under construction. It will provide a north-south connection for east bound traffic and will be located just west of the Slumberland Furniture store. In addition to providing easier access to the furniture store, Brunjes Drive also will pave the way for the future commercial development of several adjacent land tracts.

The approved cost of the contract is not to exceed $490,190.90.
