Phase 2 of the Mexico Road resurfacing and sidewalk project has been approved.
On April 11, the O’Fallon City Council approved an agreement with Spencer Contracting Company, in an amount not to exceed $1,191,456.59, to continue the street improvements. Federal transportation funds will reimburse the city for 80% of that cost.
The work covers the stretch of Mexico Road from Barrington Drive [Copperfield Subdivision] west to Hwy. K and includes the installation of push buttons, signals and pedestrian crossings at the Mexico Road-Hwy K intersection. Additionally, the asphalt path along the south side of Mexico Road will be reconstructed in order to provide a 10-foot-wide concrete path.
The project is expected to be completed within 130 days after its start date, with an estimated timeline of late April/early May through mid-September.
