Local schools rank in math tournament

In partnership with MathLeague.org, St. Charles Community College hosted the 22nd annual area high school math tournament on Saturday, March 2. The event brought 12 area high schools and 50 students to SCC’s campus and was open to any student in grades nine through 12.

Overall, Rock Bridge High [Columbia, Missouri] took first place in the tournament. Francis Howell Central claimed second place and Thomas Jefferson School [St. Louis County] came in third.

Individual finalists included: from Fort Zumwalt West Matthew Armstrong and Feroz Khan; Francis Howell Central David Bonstead, Sam Chen, Ronnie Cordsiemon and Micheal Yu; from Francis Howell North Will Liao and Sachin Milli; from Liberty High Nawal Cheema; and from St. Dominic High Jeremy Sutterer and Thomas Eck.

In the Team Round, first place went to Rock Bridge High, second place to Francis Howell Central and third place went to Marquette High. Fourth place went to Clayton High, and fifth place went to Hickman High [Columbia, Missouri].
