Fort Zumwalt schools named to PLTW list

PLTW biomedical students who have completed four years in the program are celebrated with a white coat ceremony.

Fort Zumwalt’s East High and West High have both been recognized as Project Lead The Way [PLTW] Distinguished Schools. Project Lead the Way is a national curriculum at all Fort Zumwalt high schools that offers students hands-on learning in biomedical science, engineering and computer science. Participating students can earn college credit in high school. PLTW recognizes Distinguished Schools for displaying a commitment to increasing student access, engagement and achievement in PLTW programs.

PLTW is a nonprofit organization that provides hands-on learning experiences for 10,500 elementary, middle and high schools in all 50 states by empowering students to develop in-demand skills in computer science, engineering and biomedical science.

The PLTW Distinguished School recognition is based on the number of PLTW curricular offerings available to students, the number of students engaged in PLTW, and student success in their PLTW coursework.
