Nothing Bundt Cakes: Sweet nostalgia in every bite

Spring’s featured flavor, “Strawberries & Cream”

“There just wasn’t anything like it here, so that’s why I decided to bring it to St. Louis,” Jannette Neely, owner of Nothing Bundt Cakes, said. “Everyone has a bundt story. All day long while I’m working in the bakery, I’ll hear customers stories about how their grandmother used to make bundt cakes, or how their mom made bundt cakes.”

Sweet nostalgia and a passion for baking were the main ingredients for Neely to open the first Nothing Bundt Cakes franchise in the St. Louis area. It was a decision she made after discovering the unique business concept in Texas.

Neely opened the first franchise in St. Louis in April 2015 in the Lamp & Lantern Village shopping center in Town & Country to give residents a taste of the treats. By 2019, the newest location in St. Peters at the 94 Crossing Shopping Center opened its doors.

Neely said the response since opening has been “overwhelming.”

“It’s been awesome,” Neely said. “It’s a happy place in St. Peters, just like it is in [Town & Country].”

While bundt cake cravings may initially bring you through Nothing Bundt Cake’s door, you will want to stay for the slowly melting cake and assortment of flavors. Picking just one may be hard. Nine core flavors to choose from daily, along with a monthly featured flavor, are enough to tempt any set of taste buds. For spring, the newest featured flavor is Strawberries & Cream, a timeless combination that’s handcrafted with whole strawberry fruit filling and creamy white chocolate.

“The first day we had it, it flew out the doors,” Neely said. “Everyone that heard about it wanted to come taste it.”

All of Nothing Bundt Cakes products are baked fresh daily on site and use the same recipes created by the original Nothing Bundt Cake founders, Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz. Years later, the company’s promise remains a staple with every location: “Whether you’re enjoying a bundt cake or a bundtini one thing is certain – perfection is all we offer.”

Nothing Bundt Cakes uses real butter and silky-smooth cream cheese to make its frosting, which is not to be confused with icing. Tasting the difference is as easy as walking into Neely’s store and making a beeline to the sample table, where samples are kept out all day long.

Nothing Bundt Cakes also serves as a one-stop shop for a variety of gift items to pair with – what else – cake! Cake plates, pedestals, trays and giftware, including napkins, cards and balloons are available. Cakes also can be custom decorated with a variety of items such as silk flowers or festive toppings.

With springtime in bloom, it’s the perfect time to hop in and grab a Bunny Bundt, decorated with bunny ears and matching velvet bunny feet, or partake in the Bunnies and Eggs bundtinis topped with paper eggs and puff-tailed bunnies.

Nothing Bundt Cakes also decorates cakes for year-round festivities. Surprise family members with a “Happy Bundtday” cake or a “Cele-bundt-ing You” cake, complete with a colorful banner.

“Whatever you’re celebrating, we have something for you,” Neely said.
