At its March 28 meeting, the O’Fallon City Council approved a resolution authorizing a Scope of Work Adjustment [SOWA] with Navigate Building Solutions for the O’Day Park and Activity Conference Center project, with a cost not to exceed $35,591.
In the memorandum supporting the resolution, Project Manager John Parris verified that per the latest schedule received from builder KCI Construction, project completion date has been moved to the end of April.
Parris clarified that the original project contract was for $537,092. Factoring in three work adjustments, one for $45,832, one for $106,773 and one for $35,591, the new project total now is $725,288. That total is $188,196 or 35 percent more than originally planned.
Regarding fiscal impact of SOWA #3, Parris noted that the intent is to reduce the contract agreement with KCI Construction Company to cover the cost of additional services, and that there are adequate funds in the bond to cover this expense.
