At its March 20 meeting, the Dardenne Prairie Board of Aldermen approved multiple bills to move the city forward with four ongoing road projects, including adding new access to I-64 at Technology Drive, new access to Route 364 at Technology Drive and improvements to both North Hanleyand Stump roads.
The North Hanley Road project already has been funded and awaits public comment, detailed planning and land acquisition discussions. The other three projects are still in preliminary stages.
Bill 19-11 would authorize an intergovernmental cooperation agreement between the Dardenne Prairie and the city of O’Fallon toward the costs of preparing an Access Justification Report [AJR] for Interstate 64 access to and from Technology Drive. Any request for county, state, or federal funding requires an AJR. Due to an existing interest in the access, O’Fallon has verbally agreed to share the AJR cost with Dardenne Prairie.
Bill 19-09 would authorize a professional services agreement with George Butler Associates, Inc., for the project to study Route 364 access to and from Technology Drive. Additionally, it would authorize the execution of an agreement with HDR Engineering, Inc. for land acquisition services needed for the North Hanley Road reconstruction and improvement project.
Bill 19-08 would authorize the city engineer to submit a fiscal year 2020-2022 Transportation Improvement Program [TIP] application to the St. Charles County Road Board for financing of the Stump Road reconstruction and improvement project. The TIP funding decision is not expected until at least August 2019, and no further detailed planning or discussions will occur until after funding is obtained.
