For the City Council meeting on Feb. 28, Parks and Recreation Director Cindy Springer sent a project update on O’Day Park in an information-only document.
The park was originally scheduled to be substantially complete by Dec. 6, 2018, but construction delays have pushed the opening back to April or May. The first rental in O’Day Lodge is to be May 19, 2019. The city is working with the contractor, KCI, to ensure construction continues to move ahead.
Progress has been made in some areas, including audio-visual equipment installed in O’Day Lodge, decking and roof installed in the Family Shelter, concrete installed for the trash enclosure in the maintenance building, roof and soffits installed in the salt storage building, sign installation, and general earthwork and cleanup done on the overall site.
