Dancing mayors to highlight annual charity ball

At the March 6 Dardenne Prairie Board of Aldermen meeting, Mayor David Zucker confirmed a special event: the 2019 Mayors Charity Ball, to be held on Saturday, April 13, 5:30-a1:30 p.m., in the Grand Ballroom of the St. Charles Convention Center.

Zucker will participate, along with the mayors from St. Peters, West Alton, Lake Saint Louis, Wentzville, St. Charles, Cottleville and O’Fallon.

A unique part of the entertainment will be the mayors participating in “Dancing with the Stars – Disco Style.” Attendees will vote via donation at the event for the most entertaining mayor, best dancer, worst dancer, et cetera. The winner will be the mayor with the greatest dollar amount donated as a result of his or her performance.

The stars will include professional dancers paired with each mayor. Zucker said all the mayors currently are practicing their dance routines. He disclosed that he will be dancing the Tango, although he said he might regret that decision later.

Net proceeds from the event will assist four local charities: The Adam Morgan Foundation, Community Living, Inc., St. Charles Borromeo Mini Vinnies, and Unlimited Play.
