CCFR comes to the aid of DASA

A check for $2,500 was presented to the Disabled Athletes Sports Association [DASA] on Jan. 29 by the Central County Fire & Rescue [CCFR] Community Outreach Committee.

Capt. David Maupin, chair of the committee, presented DASA with the check, which represented proceeds of a mud volleyball tournament hosted by CCFR last summer.

DASA is a St. Peters-based nonprofit that promotes adaptive sports and activities to individuals with physical, visual and hearing disabilities.

“We are so proud of our CCFR crews and St. Peters community for making these community outreach efforts possible,” CCFR Asst. Chief Steve Brown said. “DASA has become one of our primary charitable partners, and we’ve been truly inspired by their hard work to make sports and fitness an option for all. We can’t wait to see the wonderful things they do with this donation!”

Teams will be able to register at centralcountyfire.org soon for the July 13 mud volleyball event.
