Residents of O’Fallon can bring items too large to fit into curbside trash containers to the O’Fallon waste transfer station, 1572 Progress West Lane, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 for disposal.
To use the drop-off, customers need a current photo ID with their O’Fallon address and must unload their own items. Acceptable items include furniture, carpets, swing sets, bikes, toddler pools, sports and exercise equipment, lawn mowers [but not riding mowers], large hand tools, barbecue grills, computer monitors, televisions and fluorescent bulbs.
Unacceptable items include appliances, automotive tires, parts and batteries, yard waste, railroad ties and liquid household hazardous waste including paints and stains, gas, oil, solvents, pesticides, fungicides and herbicides. The drop-off service is free.
Curbside pick-up of these items is available for a fee and can be arranged by calling Environmental Services at (636) 272-0477. Weight and size limits may apply.
