Duello Elementary Principal Laura Parn, center, was named Exemplary New Principal by the St. Louis Suburban Elementary Principals Association.

Laura Parn, principal of Wentzville School District’s Duello Elementary, has been named Exemplary New Principal by the St. Louis Suburban Elementary Principals Association.

Parn is in her second year as principal of Duello. She was named a Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund teacher in 2007 and received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2012.

“[Parn] truly possesses all the qualities and characteristics that make a strong educational impact on students, parents and staff,” said Duello Assistant Principal Dani Todd in her nomination letter. “She works hard to build relationships with staff and families and challenges them to high expectations. Mrs. Parn has a huge heart and she goes above and beyond to meet student, parent and faculty needs.”

Parn will be recognized at the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals [MAESP] Leadership Conference in March.
