Expanded dining space opens in February 2019


Salty’s Fresh Mex continues to impress, so much so that its owners have plans to expand the restaurant within the next month to accomodate a growing demand for large parties of up to 50 people.

Whether your gathering is a large party or a romantic date night, Salty’s Fresh Mex is sure to please. Co-owners Paul and Angie Wegeng opened Salty’s in Cottleville in 2016. The cozy space has both indoor and outdoor dining options. And now, the restaurant will soon offer even more dining space, with its brand new expansion set to be complete by Valentine’s Day.

Paul emphasizes that the restaurant serves “fresh Mex,” which means everything is made fresh on site – from cuisine that he describes as an “American twist on Mexican food” to its 10 different flavors of hand-shaken margaritas.

“We do everything fresh, from our salsa to our guacamole to our refried beans,” Paul said. “We soak them and cook them up every day with our own recipe.”

There are no fryers, freezers or microwaves at the restaurant. Customers can hear the grill start sizzling as soon as an order is placed, and each flavorful margarita is hand-shaken on the spot.

“We take time to do these things,” Paul said, “because we take a lot of pride in our food. Our focus is offering 100-percent quality and taking good care of our customers.”

That pride has helped make Salty’s Fresh Mex a local favorite for fresh, flavorful cuisine.
