The 2018 O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries awardees

The O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries held its Annual Awards Luncheon in December and recognized Extreme Electrical Contractors LLC as its 2018 Business of the Year; Sherry Gibson, of Gibson Printing, Inc. as its Sue Proost Person of the Year award recipient; Barbara Boswell Goode as its 2018 Ambassador of the Year; GraceRiver Church as its Community Servant of the Year; Rendezvous Cafe & Wine Bar as its Small Business of the Year; and St. Charles Community College as its Large Business of the Year.

Investa Management, in partnership with sister companies Snow and Ice Management Co., BSR Services, Inc. and Cedar Lake Cellars, held a toy drive to benefit AGAPE of Warren County’s Share-A-Christmas program. Founded in 1996, AGAPE is a non-profit organization that provides food to individuals and families who are facing food insecurity. The Share-A-Christmas program provides toys to 300 Warren County families for the holidays.

Lori Tainter [center] graduating from the U.S. Chamber Federation’s Institute for Organization Management

Lori Tainter graduated from the Institute for Organization Management [IOM], the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Tainter is the vice president of member services/new media coordinator of the Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce. The IOM graduate recognition signifies the individual’s completion of 96 hours of course instruction in nonprofit management. In addition, participants can earn credit hours toward the Certified Chamber Executive [CCE] or Certified Association Executive [CAE] certifications. Nearly 1,000 individuals attend the institute annually.

The Greater St. Charles Chamber of Commerce hosts its Lunch with Leaders program from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Piazza Messina, 5535 State Hwy. N in Cottleville. St. Louis Regional Chamber representatives Andrew Smith, vice president of entrepreneurship and innovation, and Austin Walker, director of government relations, will present a joint session on the future of the “Hyperloop” and the 2019 Legislative Agenda. The O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries hosts a Taste of Vegas Casino Night from 6-11 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Christy Banquet Center, 9000 Veterans Memorial Pkwy. in O’Fallon. Formal and cocktail attire is preferred. General admission is $65 per person and includes tastings from O’Fallon’s finest restaurants, open bar, two raffle entries, $5,000 in gaming money and live entertainment with dancing.
