In November, Holt High senior Noah Scheuermann took home the Missouri Class 2 state swimming championship title in the 200 freestyle event with a time of 1:39.29 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex.
Scheuermann also took second place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.75.
Though this is Scheuermann’s first state championship win, he has been a five-time medalist over the past three years. As a junior, he placed third in the 500 freestyle and sixth in the 200 IM. As a sophomore, he placed eighth in the 100 butterfly. Scheuermann has been a qualifier for Winter Nationals and Summer Junior Nationals, and he placed 12th in the 200 butterfly at the National Club Swimming Summer Championships.
Scheuermann is involved in DECA at Holt and swims year-round for the Parkway Swim Club. He has verbally committed to swim for Arizona State University next year where he plans to major in business.
In the Missouri Class 1 Swimming Championship, Liberty High senior Ian Herling won his second state medal by taking fifth place in the 50 freestyle event. He took fifth in the same event last year.
