To create awareness of homelessness in our area and raise funds for the homeless, Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service will host Sleep Out Saturday this spring on its campus located at 4116 McClay Road in St. Charles. The date of this event has been moved to Saturday, April 27.

Participants will have the opportunity to set up camp on Care Service grounds and sleep outside for one night to raise money for the homeless in our community. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Care Service.

Driven by its mission to serve those in crisis and to prevent homelessness and hunger, the purpose of Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service is to protect families, especially children, senior citizens, and disabled individuals from the despair, hopelessness, and social injustice caused by poverty. The inaugural SOS hopes to bring about awareness—and help—for those homeless in our neighborhoods.

Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service is looking for participants and sponsors for Sleep Out Saturday. All levels of sponsorship are available. Registration, sponsorships and donations can be accepted at www.jacares.org/sos or by contacting Hannah Rae Lumley, development coordinator at Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service, at 636-441-1302, ext. 263 or hlumley@jacares.org.
