Fort Zumwalt students win national PSA contest

By: Ellen Lampe

Fort Zumwalt West High students Alina Febus, Taylor Jarrett, Maddie Matray and Jocelyn Evans have received national recognition for a public service announcement they created for a class.

Their PSA video titled “Stop Domestic Abuse” won the The Greatest Save 2018 Teen PSA Contest. The video sheds light on relationship violence among teens. The goal of the Teen PSA Program, a peer-to-peer crime prevention program of the KinderVision Foundation, is to raise awareness about personal safety issues to prevent teen victimization.

Because the KinderVision Foundation is a recognized charity of Major League Baseball, regional winners are recognized by their local baseball team. The West High students and their teacher Sharon Duggan were honored by the St. Louis Cardinals this summer.
