With Labor Day fast approaching, it may seem like the end of vacation season. But for recreational vehicle owners nothing could be further from the truth.
After all, fall is the ideal time to head out on the open road. Whether you’re heading to soccer tournaments or collegiate football games, taking in the golden hues of autumn or hitting tourist destinations after the crowds have gone home, traveling in an RV guarantees your have a place to stay and all the comforts of home.
“There’s no need for hotels, just pack and go,” said Tammy Wildman, executive director of the Midwest Gateway RV Dealers Association. “We see a lot of people purchasing RVs for travel with kids who are on select sports teams. But RVing also is an ideal way to travel for couples, empty nesters and, yes, retirees.”On Sept. 7-9, the 29th Annual Fall RV Show & Sale will be held at The Family Arena, 2002 Arena Parkway in St. Charles, just 1.5 miles south of Interstate 70’s 5th Street exit. Presented by the Midwest Gateway RV Dealers Association, the show takes place, rain or shine, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday.
Nearly 300 recreational vehicles, including motorhomes, 5th wheels, travel trailers, sport utility trailers, pop-ups, and camper vans will be displayed on the Family Arena’s parking lot. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The Fall RV Show offers the opportunity to connect with 10 of the most trusted, family-owned RV dealers in the region: Apache Village, Bill Thomas Camper Sales, Bourbon RV Center, Byerly RV Center, Colman’s Country Campers, 47 West Trailer Sales, Midwest RV Center, M.B. Thomas RV Sales & Rental, Middleton RV and Van City RV.“This is a great time of year to shop for a new RV,” Wildman explained, “as many of the dealers that make up the Midwest Gateway RV Dealers Association are looking to make room on their lots and in their showrooms for the new models that come out in January and February.”
In addition to offering fantastic savings, the show introduces prospective buyers and vacation dreamers to the freedom, flexibility and fun of the RV lifestyle.
“The RV show offers the opportunity to compare many different models, check out various floor plans, ask questions, talk with current RVers and purchase RVs for big savings and closeout deals,” explained show chairman Dave Kohne, of Van City RV Center in South County. “Amazing deals and upfront pricing on a huge selection of end-of-year inventory is a hallmark of this show.
