The city of Cottleville is seeing several road and park improvements around town.
Improvements to Fifth Street in the historic old town area of Cottleville are now underway and are slated to be completed by the end of 2018. Similar improvements to the Chestnut and Main Street area in historic old town Cottleville are expected to begin this year. These improvements include curbs, sidewalks, parking, upgraded street signage and street lighting that would resemble the recent improvements on Main Street or along Hwy. N.
For many years, the Cottleville Community Improvement District has discussed much-needed improvements for streets within Cottleville’s historic district.
Future plans, funded by the Cottleville Community Improvement District, include additional street improvements in Cottleville’s historic area as funds become available.
Construction soon will begin at Mid Rivers Mall Drive near Cottleville Parkway and continue through spring or summer of 2019. Improvements include additional turn lanes, improved crosswalks, bridge widening and relocating the pedestrian path. This project is funded by the City of St. Peters, East West Gateway and St. Charles County Road Board.
The St. Charles County Highway Department plans to begin constructing an overpass in 2019 on Page/Route 364 at Gutermuth, to be completed in 2020. Funding is being sought to realign/widen Gutermuth Road to Motherhead Road.
Due to its popularity, plans are underway to expand the Dog Park by extending the fenced area and adding additional resting and seating areas. Construction is expected to be completed this year.
A connector trail is planned for Harmony Lake Parkway and Centre Lake Drive, completing the existing Podhorn Memorial Trail. Construction is expected to begin this year.
