The city of O’Fallon might become even more of an all-year destination for residents in Lake Saint Louis.
At its Aug. 9 meeting, the O’Fallon City Council voted 6-0 in favor of an agreement that would allow residents of Lake Saint Louis to pay residential rates at the Renaud Spirit Center [RSC] in exchange for the city of Lake Saint Louis paying an annual fee to the city of O’Fallon.
Prior to the Aug. 9 meeting, staff from O’Fallon’s Parks and Recreation Department reached out to Lake Saint Louis officials regarding the opportunity to join the Renaud Spirit Center at resident rates. In order for residents to pass the less expensive membership fees, the city of Lake Saint Louis has agreed to pay O’Fallon a fee of $5,000 annually. Lake Saint Louis also agreed to market the opportunity to its residents through the city’s official media outlets.
According to city staff, the discounted rate is expected to increase the number of Lake Saint Louis RSC members to about 1.25 percent of that city’s population, or a total of 194 members from the municipality. The projected increase in attendance would boost RSC’s revenue to approximately $35,000, based on family memberships.
