Auditions set for O’FallonTheatreWorks production of ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’

Auditions for the O’FallonTheatreWorks production of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” will start at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at the O’Fallon Municipal Centre, 100 North Main Street.

O’FallonTheatreWorks is looking to cast a diverse group of 12 men and women ages 20 and up. Production dates for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” are Nov. 2-4 and Nov. 9-11.

“Long before Jack Nicholson pulled on his boots and stepped in front of the cameras to star in ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,’ audiences fell in love with the play,” director Carole Lanham said. “Based on Ken Kesey’s counter-culture novel from the 1960s, the play tells the story of a group of mental patients living in a psych ward and the newcomer who teaches them to stand up for their own humanity.”

An appointment is not needed to audition, but those planning to attend are asked to respond before Aug. 5 to the invitation posted at www.facebook.com/events/1846764008964126.

Auditioners should bring a headshot and resume, and come ready to deliver cold readings from the script. No prepared monologues are necessary. Callbacks will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5. For more information, call Chris or Carole Lanham at (636) 485-1359.
