McClay Road will be closed to eastbound traffic from Jungermann Road to a point approximately 200 feet east of Jungermann beginning Wednesday, July 11. The closure to eastbound traffic is expected to last three days to allow concrete pavement replacement as part of an ongoing improvement project on McClay Road.
While this portion of eastbound McClay Road is closed, the right-hand lane on northbound Jungermann Road approaching eastbound McClay also will be closed to traffic.
Drivers on Jungermann can access eastbound McClay during the closure by taking Queensbrooke Boulevard to Harvester Road or taking Burning Leaf Drive to Old Horstmeier Road.
Once McClay Road reopens to eastbound traffic, two-way travel will be restored; however, westbound McClay will be narrowed from three lanes to two lanes as construction continues east of Jungermann for about another week.
This construction work is part of the McClay Road resurfacing project between Shepherds Hill Drive and the Jungermann Road intersection.
The closure schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
Drivers are asked to use caution, slow down and observe all traffic signs when traveling through work zones.
