It’s back! Or it will be soon enough – lazy Friday nights sitting by the edge of a lake listening to familiar favorites and new discoveries while catching up with friends and enjoying what St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano says is the “best sunset in St. Charles County.”

Sunset Fridays in 370 Lakeside Park, sponsored in part by Mid Rivers Newsmagazine, returns on May 18 with the rock/acoustic stylings of Wade Trent. Trent, who went to Buchanan High in Troy, is more than just a local boy, he’s a bonafide fan favorite and he’s not the only favorite making Sunset Fridays a return destination all summer long. Also returning are several nights of food truck favorites and dinner, snacks and refreshments including ice cold beer, soft drinks and wine served by the Gator Island Grill starting at 6 p.m. every Friday of the concert season.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets though early-arriving patrons may be able to find a comfortable seat in the Corporate Pavilion, which is furnished with outdoor furniture and seats more than 300 guests. Picnic baskets and drinks also are welcome, but outside alcoholic beverages and glass containers may not be brought into the Corporate Pavilion area.

“We’re looking forward to another jam-packed season of Sunset Fridays concerts this summer,” said St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano. “The beautiful sunsets and winery-like atmosphere at 370 Lakeside Park draws in hundreds of people from all over the area every Friday night for our free live concerts. If you’ve never been, you have to come check it out – it’s always a good time!”
