On April 24, Dardenne Prairie officials shared several proposals of possible changes along the Interstate 64 corridor between Winghaven Boulevard and Missouri Route 364, which also includes a portion of Technology Drive.
At a public open house meeting at Dardenne City Hall, the city shared two proposals that would directly affect residents, property owners and businesses along I-64, Technology Drive, Hwy. N and Route 364.
The first proposal would improve the Dardenne Prairie access to and from I-64 with a full interchange at Hwy. N, off and on ramps for both eastbound and westbound traffic, and maintaining Technology Drive as a two-way street.
The second proposal would improve access to and from Dardenne Prairie from Route 364 with a full interchange at Technology Drive, off and on ramps for both eastbound and westbound lanes, and replacing the existing interchange just north of Dardenne Town Square shopping center.
The city has held public hearings since January to seek public input on the possible road improvements.
Meanwhile, other local officials also are studying road improvements throughout the area along Route 364 and I-64. The St. Charles County Council agreed in January to spend $1.5 million for a study that may jump-start road improvements along an increasingly congested section of Hwy. N. The environmental assessment study would be along nine miles of Hwy. N.
