Friends of Kids with Cancer – a nonprofit whose mission is “helping kids with cancer… be kids!” – is proud to welcome its new executive director, Tim Mickelson, on board.
Tim brings more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and program development to Friends of Kids with Cancer. Originally from the for-profit performance improvement arena, Tim consciously shifted his career to the non-profit world after the loss of his 19-year-old son, Nathan. As executive director of Friends of Kids with Cancer, Tim is able to combine his professional skill set with his passion to foster a soaring spirit among children battling cancer – no matter their prognosis. His responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of program operations, fundraising, special events and marketing.
Tim joins the staff of Friends of Kids with Cancer, dedicated to serving children undergoing treatment for, and survivors of, cancer and blood-related diseases.
Friends of Kids with Cancer recognizes that cancer is not limited to affecting only the life of the patient; the whole family is impacted. That’s why Friends of Kids with Cancer provides both children and their families with the educational, emotional and recreational support needed after long hours of chemotherapy, illness and isolation – helping to keep them upbeat and ready to face a new day.
