Co-owners Andrew Tessmer and Rick Duree created the BeerSauce Shop to deliver well-crafted beer and barbecue to customers seeking high-quality brews and specialty sauces. Each month, the “BS” gurus bring exclusive beer, whiskey, barbecue and hot sauces, and grilling products to their patrons.

For the 29th consecutive year, the city of Saint Charles’ finance department has received a certificate of achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and was presented to the department in recognition of its comprehensive annual financial report.

The Cuivre River Electric Community Trust recently awarded a $2,500 Operation Round Up grant to First Step Back Home, a faith-based, homeless ministry, to help with emergency shelter in motels for homeless individuals in St. Charles County. In 2016, First Step Back Home supplied 881 nights of emergency shelter for 392 people.
The O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce & Industries recently announced its 2017 Annual Award winners in the categories of Small Business of the Year, Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Community Servant of the Year, and the Sue Proost Person of the Year.
The Glass Guru of O’Fallon has been named Small Business of the Year. Gregg Merkel, owner of The Glass Guru of O’Fallon, also has been named as the O’Fallon Chamber Ambassador of the Year. Honored as the Small Business of the Year is Baue Funeral Homes. True Manufacturing received the Large Business of the Year award. The Alzheimer’s Association was recognized as the Community Servant of the Year. The Sue Proost O’Fallon Chamber Person of the Year was awarded to Greg Kinder, former owner of Autotech Auto Center.
The Society for Financial Awareness [SOFA] announced the appointment of Marita LaChapell, who will represent the greater St. Louis/St. Charles area, as its newest chapter member. LaChapell is a financial advisor, CPA/PFS and certified kingdom advisor with Pathfinder Financial Advocates. SOFA is a nationwide nonprofit organization whose goal is to end financial illiteracy in America, one community at a time. The nonprofit is comprised of various working financial professionals who volunteer pro bono service to their communities by conducting free financial educational workshops and seminars to companies, churches and other organizations.

St. Charles Community College welding instructors Pat Cody and Jon Bridegan recently received awards for excellence in their field at the American Welding Society [AWS] St. Louis Section annual awards ceremony. Cody received the District Meritorious Award, a distinction given to AWS members who have performed outstanding service to the AWS community. Bridegan was awarded the Section Educator Award, an honor given to educators whose teaching activities have advanced the knowledge of welding to undergraduate or postgraduate students in their respective engineering institutions.
