MLB’s Cody Asche honored at Fort Zumwalt West High, Jan. 12


Fort Zumwalt West High graduate Cody Asche, who will play with the Kansas City Royals in 2018.

Fort Zumwalt West High all-state baseball player Cody Asche will be honored Friday, Jan. 12 as his No. 15 jersey is retired during a celebration in the gymnasium at West High School, 1251 Turtle Creek Drive in O’Fallon.

A 2008 West High graduate, Asche played baseball for the University of Nebraska before he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies. Last year, he was in the Chicago White Sox organization and he recently signed a contract to play for the Kansas City Royals in 2018.

The evening also is the annual “Paint it Pink” night where students raise money to support Breast Cancer Research.

4 p.m. – JV Girls vs. Troy Buchanan

4 p.m. – JV Boys vs. Troy Buchanan

5:30 p.m. –Varsity Girls vs. Troy Buchanan

6:30 p.m. – Celebrating Cody Asche

7 p.m. –Varsity Boys vs. Troy Buchanan
