A portion of Jungermann Road north of the Boone Hills Drive area is expected to be closed temporarily in both directions starting later this month due to construction activity.
The closure is part of a series of changing traffic patterns and lane closures due to a construction project to improve the intersection of Jungermann and Boone Hills with a new box culvert, new traffic signals and related improvements.
Jungermann is expected to be closed to traffic on Monday, Dec. 18 just north of Boone Hills to allow removal of a box culvert. Jungermann will remain open to local traffic from Mexico Road to Twill Valley Court and from Willott Road to Boone Hills Drive. Traffic will be detoured around this area using Mexico, Spencer and Willott roads.
Jungermann will reopen on Saturday, Dec. 23; however, both southbound lanes and center turn lane of Jungermann Road will remain closed. The remaining lanes will be converted to provide one lane for northbound and one lane for southbound Jungermann traffic. These lane closures will accommodate construction of a large storm sewer on the west side Jungermann. The lane closures will occur between Gailwood and Orchard Hills drives.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Boone Hills at all times, but drivers should expect changing traffic patterns during pipe installation.
All of the scheduled dates are dependent on weather.
