Admission wristbands can be purchased now for the Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll at Celebration of Lights on Monday, Dec. 11 and Tuesday, Dec. 12.
The annual walk-through event will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. in Fort Zumwalt Park, and costs $3 for ages 3 and up. It is free for younger children.
Wristbands can be purchased through Friday, Dec. 8 or until supplies last at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office, 400 Civic Park Drive, across the street from Civic Park. The administration office is open from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. For more information, call (636) 379-6514.
Walk-through visitors will experience colorful lights illuminating a one-mile drive lined with whimsical holiday scenes, inspiring nativities and more. Along the way, carolers fill the air with music, Santa Land will be open and fireworks will burst over Lake Whetsel at 7:25 p.m. Visitors also can step into the historic Heald Home to warm up and see the holiday decorations and visit the St. Charles Model Railroad Club’s display of working model trains rolling past miniature city and country landscapes.
Pedestrians are welcome to bring strollers, wagons, walkers and wheelchairs. Pets, with the exception of service dogs, motorized hoverboards, kids’ scooters, bikes or skateboards are prohibited.
Free parking and shuttle service is available at First Baptist Church, 8750 Veterans Memorial Parkway and O’Fallon Christian Church, 9380 Veterans Memorial Parkway.
