Fort Zumwalt schools hold holiday fundraisers

For the Thanksgiving holiday and beyond, students and staff in the Fort Zumwalt School District are holding fundraisers to provide for people in need.

A shoe drive is underway through Nov. 30 at Pheasant Point Elementary to benefit children in under-developed countries. The school also is holding its Holiday Bike Drive through Nov. 27 to help collect new bikes to provide for families and kids for the holiday season.

JL Mudd Elementary is collecting winter-weather gear for families in need by hosting its Coat, Mitten and Scarf Drive through Dec. 1.

Mount Hope Elementary is hosting The Giving Tree fundraiser from Nov. 29 through Dec. 20, collecting items for Mount Hope families in need.

At East High, the Six Days of Sharing fundraising event runs from Nov. 30 through Dec. 8. The drive collects items for East High families in need, with additional donations given to the Salvation Army. Emge Elementary is hosting its Adopt-A-Family event from Dec. 4 through Dec. 15. The event aims to help Saints Joachim and Ann Care Service create happy holidays for local families by providing amenities, food, hygiene products and toys.

North Middle will host its own The Giving Tree fundraiser from Dec. 4 through Dec. 14 to collect a variety of items to help students’ families in need.
