Tri-City Holiday Food Drive underway

The 8th Annual Tri-City Holiday Food Drive is going on now through January 5, 2018. This is the eighth year that Weldon Spring and the cities of Dardenne Prairie and Cottleville have challenged each other in the food drive.

Non-perishable food items and toiletries; such as cereal, dry pasta, sauce, canned goods, baby diapers, toothpaste, shampoo and cleaning items are needed. All of the items collected in Weldon Spring will go to Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service, the largest social services provider for individuals, families and children in the tri-county area of St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. To make a monetary donation, make checks payable to Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service.

This holiday season, Weldon Spring also be will collecting items for the community’s four-legged friends. The donations will go to Five Acres Animal Shelter, formally known as the St. Charles Humane Society. Five Acres is the only no-kill shelter in St. Charles County and relies on donations in order to operate.

Items needed include Purina dog and puppy food, kitten chow, new and gently used towels and blankets, beds, collars and leashes. Bleach, paper towels, trash bags and gift cards to PetCo and PetsMart also are welcomed donations. Monetary donation should be made  payable to Five Acres Animal Shelter.

Donations are being accepted at the city halls of each municipality.
