Area residents are encouraged to make a stand against crime on National Night Out from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3. During this time, residents are encouraged to turn their outside lights on and step outside to spend the night with neighbors.
Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, the goal of National Night Out is to strengthen neighborhood and law enforcement partnerships to reduce crime.
The St. Peters Police Department accepts invitations to local block parties to meet with kids and hand out stickers, coloring books and other fun items. McGruff the Crime Dog also will make a few special appearances at neighborhood parties. To arrange a visit, contact Officer Melissa Doss at (636) 278-2244, ext. 3550.
