Fort Zumwalt opens new Early Childhood Center

The Fort Zumwalt School District [FZSD] has opened a 71,000-square-foot Early Childhood Center [ECC] near the intersection of Interstate 70 and Highway 79 in St. Peters.

The newly-converted facility – which was once Sanford Brown College – is now home to FZSD’s Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education and Parents as Teachers programs. The programs serve more than 400 3- to 5-year-olds and their families.

Certified teachers and trained paraprofessionals work side-by-side, implementing a curriculum developed by Fort Zumwalt educators and approved by the FZSD Board of Education. The teaching and learning at the ECC dovetails into the teaching and learning in the kindergarten classrooms, supporting students to all reach their potential.

The Fort Zumwalt ECC hosts a community open house from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7898 Veterans Memorial Parkway.
