Police seek identity of armed bank robber who took an undisclosed amount of money from Gateway Metro Federal Credit Union

St. Peters Police Department were trying to identify an armed bank robber who took an undisclosed amount of money on June 19 from the Gateway Metro Federal Credit Union in the 1400 block of Jungermann Road.

St. Peters police received an alarm call at about 10:57 a.m. concerning the robbery. Witnesses said the suspect entered the bank and displayed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

After receiving money, police say the suspect fled on foot to the west of the bank, crossing Jungermann Road to Triad Center Drive. After a witness lost sight of the suspect, they saw a maroon Pontiac G6 traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Triad Center Drive.

Witnesses described the robber as an approximately 30-year-old heavyset white male, wearing a gray hoodie, gloves, a fake beard and sunglasses.

Police say they hope that someone will recognize and identify the suspect from surveillance photos taken inside the bank at the time of the robbery. They are asking that anyone with information to contact St. Peters Police Department Det. David Beckman, dbeckman@stpetersmo.net or at 636-278-2244, ext. 3530 or on the police anonymous tip hotline at 636-278-1000.
