The Fort Zumwalt School District has named its top educator and top staff member for the 2016-2017 school year.

Tracy Hall, reading specialist at Joseph L. Mudd Elementary, was chosen as the district’s Educator of the Year. Her effort to improve reading for students was demonstrated at the school’s first Reading Night last fall. She “had an idea, came up with a vision and executed all of the details, all while having a smile on her face the entire time,” read a nomination for Hall.

Molly Bolnick, nurse at Fort Zumwalt East High, also is noticed for her positive attitude. Bolnick is the district’s Employee of the Year and has been recognized for her compassion and expertise. The school clinic is “more than a place to get a Band-Aid or some headache medicine,” read one nomination, “it’s a place for students to fix their eyeglasses, mend torn clothes or talk through a situation.”
