Kokomo Joe’s “Back the Blue” event benefitting The BackStoppers.

Kokomo Joe’s Family Fun Center recently hosted its “Back the Blue” event, raising $3,279 for The BackStoppers Inc. Kokomo Joe’s is located at 4105 N. Cloverleaf Drive in St. Peters.

The Greater St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce announced the top three finalists for its 2017 Small Business of the Year Award: Bike Stop Café and Outpost; Budget Heating, Cooling and Plumbing; and St. Peters Car Wash. Each business will be recognized at the 2017 Small Business of the Year/City of St. Charles Employers of the Year awards luncheon on May 4, with the overall winner being announced at the event.

St. Peters resident Amy Connell, commercial and personal lines manager at POWERS Insurance and Benefits, recently earned her certified insurance counselor designation from the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.

The St. Charles County Department of Public Health recently recognized Faye Otto, of St. Peters, as its Medical Reserve Corps Member of the Year. The Medical Reserve Corps is a national network of volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities.

A Night at the Mouse Races event is on Saturday, May 6 from 7-11 p.m. at VFW Post 2866, 66 VFW Lane in St. Charles. Proceeds benefit Emily’s Ride. Activities include mouse races, mouse roulette, raffle baskets, silent auction, chuck-a-luck and 50/50. Interested businesses may sponsor a race for $100. The cost is $20 per person. Challenge 2017 is on Tuesday, May 9 at Lindenwood University’s Scheidegger Center, 2300 W. Clay Street in St. Charles. The event features three components: morning breakout sessions from 9-10:30 a.m.; conference from 11 a.m.-noon; and lunch and afternoon breakout sessions from noon-1:30 p.m. Breakout sessions are optional. The Western St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce kicks off its annual Pins & Putts Tournaments with a golf tournament at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12 at Incline Village Golf Course, 10220 Fairway Drive in Foristell.
