Francis Howell North’s Rebekah Apicello has made it to the finals of the Seventh Annual St. Louis Teen Talent Competition – the only local teen to do so.
On March 4, 40 high school acts from the St. Louis metropolitan area competed in the semi-finals of the annual event, which concludes on April 8 at 8 p.m. at The Fabulous Fox Theatre.
“We couldn’t be happier with the level of talent this year. While we usually only advance 12 to 13 acts to the finals, this year is an exception and we have 17 qualifying acts!” exclaimed Mary Strauss, Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation board president.
Apicello performs with the St. Louis Ballet School, along with Victoria Cunnane of Visitation Academy, Ruth Connelly of Westminster Christian Academy, Greer Den Houter of Edwardsville High and Abby Hernandez of Visitation Academy.
Winners of the competition will earn college scholarships, prizes and other opportunities to perform.
The St. Louis Teen Talent Competition is a Broadway-style show that is free and open to the public; however, general admission tickets are required. Tickets are available now at The Fabulous Fox box office and through Metrotix. All seating is general admission. For details, visit www.foxpacf.org/teen-talent-showcase.aspx
