O’Fallon man, 69, charged with robbery, armed criminal action

The St Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on James Darabcsek, a 69-year-old O’Fallon resident, for robbery, first degree and armed criminal action with a $100,000 bond. On Nov. 20, at approximately 6:12 pm, the O’Fallon Police Department received a call regarding a robbery in the 1300 block of Crooked Stick Dr.

The suspect exited his vehicle, approached the victim in his driveway, ordered him inside his residence at gunpoint and pushed him to the floor. While pointing the firearm at the victim, he threatened to kill the victim.

The victim stated he feared he was going to be killed. The suspect was a former employee of the victim’s. The suspect demanded money and told the victim he was going to meet him at a bank the next day or he was going to start killing members of the victim’s family. The suspect told the victim that if he called police, he would start killing his family members. The suspect left the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.
