What a waste of space

To the Editor:

On Sept. 24, the Smithsonian opened the National Museum of African-American History and Culture. It is another act of unwarranted patronizing towards one specific group of Americans.

The Smithsonian has many museums. Are black people not included in them? Are there no exhibits of blacks in museums across the USA? Is there not a statue of Martin Luther King in Washington, D.C.

The history of black Americans is well-documented. There is even, quite absurdly, foolishly every year, an entire month devoted to black history. Why?

Blacks deserve the same equality as all Americans. But, they do not deserve more than that and therein lies the problem. Equal treatment, equal recognition – yes, but not special treatment and not special recognition. Doing so is politically correct pandering of the worst kind of yellow-streak cowardice.

It is the same cowardice employed by simpletons who defend the lawbreaker instead of the law enforcer when the latter are simply trying to do their job. Liberalism ruins all things.

Where is the National Museum of Irish-Americans? Where is the National Museum of Polish-Americans? Where is the National Museum of German-Americans?

Blacks are only 13 percent of the American population. The National Museum of African-American History and Culture is just one more example of an American culture that is indeed, ruined. While there is simply zero need for this place to exist at all, the mere fact that Justice Clarence Thomas is excluded tells you all you need to know about the burning American culture.

The excellent and positive achievements of black Americans have been significant and large in quantity and they have been, are and will continue to be recognized. This new museum is another dumb attempt at liberalism and the proof of that failure is self-evident.

Liberalism ruins everything it touches.
