TuckerAllen, a new law firm dedicated solely to estate planning and wholly owned by St. Louis-based Lewis Rice, opened at four area locations in September, including  O’Fallon, Town & Country and Kirkwood in Missouri and Fairview Heights in Illinois. TuckerAllen brings the estate planning reputation of its parent firm to St. Louis area families with its specialized business model, which focuses on providing personalized legal services at affordable, fixed fees.

The Sparrow’s Nest in St. Charles County recently received a $10,000 “Sharing Success” grant from Cuivre River Electric Cooperative and financial partner CoBank of Denver, Colorado, to provide long-term housing outreach for young women who are displaced or homeless while pregnant or parenting. Cuivre River Electric’s Operation Round Up program has supported The Sparrow’s Nest’s mission, facilities and programs with more than $6,000 in grants since 2013.

StudyMetrix Research recently opened a new facility at 3862 Mexico Road in St. Peters, celebrating with a September ribbon-cutting. Led by Dr. Timothy R. Smith, a physician and former Mercy vice president of research, StudyMetrix is an independent clinical research company specializing in headache and diabetes research.

Chris Watts has been named president of Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital, effective in early November. Watts joined BJC HealthCare in 2005 and has held a variety of leadership roles at the health care organization over the past decade. Watts holds a master’s degree in health administration from Washington University School of Medicine and a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Truman State University.

Financial Advisor Patrick M. Ritter of area financial planning firm Fiduciary Advisors, Inc. has been accepted for membership in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors [NAPFA]. The organization’s members receive no commissions or other rewards for selling financial products, operating on a fee-only basis in order to avoid potential conflicts of interest. NAPFA also maintains some of the profession’s most rigorous education and professional development requirements.

Cedar Lake Cellars winery and event venue, located at 11008 Schreckengast Road in Wright City, recently added chefs and spouses Aaron and Ashley Lyons to its team as executive chef and chef de cuisine, respectively. The couple most recently co-founded and operated a local private chef service.

O’Fallon resident Steve Baker has joined mechanical contracting firm Haberberger Inc. as vice president of plumbing, leading the firm’s new plumbing division. Baker, who formerly owned and operated his own plumbing firm in California, has over 35 years of experience in the plumbing industry.

AWARDS AND HONORS

Seyer Industries, an aerospace and maritime defense manufacturer located in St. Peters, recently was honored for growth and success by St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann and the St. Charles County Workforce Development Board. A family-owned business for three generations, Seyer Industries has grown to approximately 200 employees in facilities that total 120,000 square feet.
