POW/MIA Remembrance Day Ceremony

2000px-United_States_POW-MIA_flagOn Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m., O’Fallon’s annual POW/MIA Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held on behalf of the nearly 90,000 American troops from foreign wars who remain unaccounted for, and the families who are waiting for their return.

Welcoming remarks will be delivered by O’Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy. The ceremony is hosted by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 458 and Am Vets Post 106, and includes posting of the colors, dressing of the table, candle lighting, the laying of the wreath, a rifle salute and Taps. Music will be provided by the St. Dominic High School Band.

Veterans Memorial Walk is just off Interstate 70 at T.R. Hughes Boulevard and Belleau Creek Road. Turn south; parking is available.
