Lake Saint Louis, O’Fallon police invite public for Coffee with a Cop

The O’Fallon and Lake Saint Louis police departments will hold a joint Coffee with a Cop event on Wednesday, Aug. 3 morning to informally meet with the public.

The meeting is set for 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the QuikTrip at 8334 Highway N, near Sommers Road. Officers from both departments will be on hand for people to ask questions, voice concerns, and get acquainted with officers serving their neighborhoods.

Lake Saint Louis Police Chief Mike Force said there is no agenda or speeches involved with the meeting.  The idea is to spur conversation between police and residents. The meeting is a first for the Lake Saint Louis department while O’Fallon police have regularly held similar events in their city.

Force told the Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen at their Aug. 1 meeting that there has been a outpouring of support for local police in light of a rash of police shootings throughout the country.  People have gone out of their way to compliment and thank police officers, he said.
