St. Charles celebrates Craft Beer Week

Once referred to as a craft beer desert, St. Charles County will celebrate its inaugural Craft Beer Week  through April 30.

A band of craft beer focused bars, breweries, restaurants and homebrew shops will feature special release beers, tap takeovers, special Missouri beers, beer education and other events through the week. A core of five local craft beer focused establishments worked with St. Charles County Craft Tap, a beer blog and magazine run by local craft beer enthusiasts, to plan and put on the area’s first Craft Beer Week.

Those slated to participate include Everything Wine and Cigar / The Barrel Bar, Shamrocks Pub and Grill, Mike’s Grill + Tap, Design2Brew and Exit 6 Brewery.

“As craft beer enthusiasts who call St. Charles County home, we really want to share the hidden craft beer gems of the area with other enthusiasts who may not realize they don’t have to cross the river to access phenomenal beer,” said St. Charles County Craft Tap co- founder Chris Oth.

A sampling of events scheduled include a Free State Brewing Company tap takeover on Monday, April 24; Schlafly Beer School on Tuesday, April 25 at Shamrocks Pub and Grill; a King’s Day La Trappe event Wednesday, April 26 at
Everything Wine and Cigar / The Barrel Bar; a Logboat Brewing Company tap takeover at Mike’s Grill + Tap on Thursday, April 27; Drink MO Beer day, featuring Missouri’s growing craft beers, will take place on Friday, April 28 at multiple locations; Saturday, April 29 will feature a Kona Brewing Company Luau at Shamrocks Pub & Grill.
