Groundbreaking celebration

Four St. Louis area homebuilders recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a major new home development, The Villages of Provence, which will be located in the heart of St. Charles near Blanchette Park. Consort Homes, Fischer & Frichtel, McKelvey Homes and Payne Family Homes are participating in the development, which will include both single-family and detached villa homes.

Randy Aaranson, D.P.M., recently relocated his podiatry practice to Deer Creek Footcare, located at 2917 Hwy. K in O’Fallon. Aaranson, a practicing podiatrist for more than 25 years, provides comprehensive care and surgery of the foot and ankle as well as diabetic foot and wound care, and also practices at Orthopedic Associates in Des Peres.

Spectra by Comcast Spectacor, the providers of venue management to the St. Charles Convention Center, recently promoted Al Beltranena to general manager.  Beltranena most recently served as assistant general manager and director of food and beverage for the facility, has been a part of the St. Charles Convention Center executive team for nine years.

Cedar Lake Cellars recently promoted Angie Roach to event director and Brittany Leonard to wine tasting room lead. Roach will manage all corporate and private events, including the nearly 100 weddings held each year at the winery and event venue. Leonard will assist with wine presentations and winery team training, as well as assisting with wine sales and developing wine pairings.

The Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers [SBTDC] recently named Justin Schulz as Director of the Small Business Development. In partnership with the Economic Development Center of St. Charles County [EDC], Schulz will be responsible for assisting small business owners with strategic planning, marketing, finance and other issues. Schulz joined the EDC staff in 2007 and holds a degree in finance and banking from the University of Missouri.

Amanda Schaub has joined the Economic Development Center of St. Charles County [EDC] and Partners for Progress of Greater St. Charles [PfP] as events coordinator / assistant race director for all aspects of the EDC/PfP. Schaub’s primary focus is promoting and growing the Cowbell Race Series.

Schaub brings five years of experience to her new role and is a graduate of the University of Missouri – St. Louis

Advanced Bone & Joint, of St. Peters, has added a second office location in O’Fallon at 4651 Highway K. The new location offers onsite diagnostic imaging and ultrasound, providing a full range of orthopedic care. In addition, spinal surgeon David P. Minges has joined Advanced Bone & Joint’s medical team. Minges is a graduate of the Creighton University School of Medicine, and completed a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.

Jennifer, Jeannie and Rich Piglowski, independent sales associates for Coldwell Banker Gundaker’s Hwy 94/ Mid-Rivers office, recently presented a check for $5,800 to Five Acres Animal Shelter, St. Charles County’s only no-kill shelter. The Piglowski family commits annually to donate  $100 per closed listing to Five Acres Animal Shelter.

Rockin’ Jump, a national indoor trampoline park, will open its first St. Louis area facility in late April at 61 N. Central Drive in O’Fallon. Owner Matt Strelo, a sports and entertainment management veteran, has leased the 30,000-square-foot space for 10 years. St. Louis-based commercial real estate company Hilliker Corporation represented Strelo in the transaction.

 

AWARDS AND HONORS

Cedar Lake Cellars winery and event venue recently was named by the Western St. Charles County Chamber of Commerce as the area’s best event venue.  The winery received the award based on results from the chamber’s annual “Best of” contest, which compiles area residents’ votes for the best local businesses and organizations.

The Duree Center for Entrepreneurship at Lindenwood University hosts an Extreme Marketing Symposium on Wednesday, March 2, from noon-1:30 p.m. at Lindenwood’s Dunseth Auditorium in Harmon Hall, 209 South Kingshighway in St. Charles. The symposium is geared toward future health, recreation and fitness professionals and is sponsored by the Duree Center in cooperation with the Economic Development Center [EDC] of St. Charles County and Partners for Progress [PfP]. The symposium will feature presentations from several communications professionals, light refreshments and a Q&A session; the event is free, but registration is required and space is limited.
