MoDOT re-opens I-70 in both directions

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Highway 79 exit were closed Sunday and Monday because they were covered with flood water from Dardenne Creek. Authorities were diverting traffic off the interstate because the east bound lanes remained covered by water. (Brian Flinchpaugh/Mid Rivers Newsmagazine photo)

MoDOT has re-opened I-70 in both directions, according to an O’Fallon press release. Only the eastbound on-ramp at Salt Lick/79 remains closed. Both the Flash Flood Watch and Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service have expired.
