The FZ Board of Education, at its Nov. 16 meeting, unanimously approved the recommendation to place a 48-cent tax levy increase proposal on the April 5 ballot.
Passage would allow the district to balance its budget and provide resources to elementary school students similar to those available in neighboring districts. Officials have said that specialized technology teachers, interventionists to help students target learning gaps and instructional coaches to help teachers implement new strategies would strengthen student achievement.
Teacher and staff salaries, which average the lowest in St. Charles County, also would be improved if voters approve the levy next April.
