Vietnam War remembered

Vietnam Tree 2On Sunday, Oct. 11, the Saint Charles Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution planted a red oak tree on the campus of St. Charles Community College in Cottleville to honor the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War.

O’Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy, SCCC President Ron Chesbrough, Ph.D., and Saint Charles Chapter Regent Lorna Jones turned the earth for the planting, and members of the Missouri Society of the Sons of the American Revolution provided the Color Guard.

The event coincided with the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s 125th Anniversary.
