Young People’s Theatre will hold open auditions for The Nifty Fifties at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Daniel J. Conoyer Social Sciences Building auditorium on the St. Charles Community College campus, located at 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
In collaboration with SSB Productions, the production of “The Nifty Fifties” will have a smaller cast and shorter time commitment than main stage productions.
“It’s easy to see why the ‘50s were so nifty in this fun, fast-paced show!” exclaimed Tina Sieker, associate dean of continuing education.
There are roles for ages 10 and up, with everything from students to beatniks and great songs like “Bop-A-Lu-Bop Dance Party,” “Teen Queen,” “It’s Tough to be a Teenager in Love,” the hilarious “It was the Blob” and, of course, the toe-tapping title tune.
Performances will be held at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14. Tickets are available now at stchastickets.com.
