First responders honor fallen Missouri State Trooper

On Sept. 4, first responders from across Missouri, and even several surrounding states, came to honor Trooper James M. Bava, who was killed in the line of duty as a result of a one-vehicle traffic crash in Audrain County on Aug. 28. The service for Bava was held at Dardenne Presbyterian Church, off Winghaven Boulevard.

Appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 1, 2013, Trooper Bava was member of the Patrol’s 97th Recruit Class. He is the 31st member of the Patrol to lose his life in the line of duty. Trooper Bava is survived by his parents, three sisters and a brother.
