Dam problem resolved

Indian Camp Creek County Park reopened  July 21 after a leak in a dam in a private lake along Dietrich Road prompted officials to close the park.

Colene McEntee, a spokesperson for St. Charles County, said the park was closed July 20 as a precaution after the dam leak was discovered. The dam is about two miles away from the park.

McEntee said the park was reopened after water was pumped out of the lake below the point of the leak.  The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is overseeing repairs to the dam, located on a private lake about two mile from the park.

The 603-park is the county’s largest and is located in the northeastern park of the county along Hwy. 40-61 near the county’s border with Lincoln County.
